PUMPKIN SPICE CHAI LATTE

Tis the season for pumpkins, right? I know everything is pumpkin spice right now, but who doesn’t love pumpkins? I am all about it! In case you missed it, Last week I shared a delicious pumpkin spice sauce recipe. You can find the directions HERE. It’s a super versatile recipe that can be used to add pumpkin spice to an endless number of recipes. Today I’m going to show you how to use it to make a pumpkin spice chai latte!

For a re-cap, here are the list of ingredients you’ll need to make the sauce

  • 8 ounce can of pumpkin puree (half of a can)
  • 1/2 cup of spring water
  • 1/2 cup of brown sugar
  • 14 ounces of sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice
  • A small pinch of salt

To begin, simmer the spring water and brown sugar in a medium saucepan. Whisk constantly until the brown sugar fully dissolves. Once the sugar has dissolved, reduce the heat to low and add the rest of the ingredients. Continue whisking until all ingredients are combined. Remove the saucepan from the heat and allow it to cool to room temperature. Chill the pumpkin spice sauce in the refrigerator for at least an hour before use.

When you’re ready to make your latte, simmer milk in a medium saucepan until there’s a light boil. Remove the saucepan from the burner, then add 2 tablespoons of chai tea (in a tea ball or bag). Allow the tea to steep for 5 minutes. Discard the tea after it has steeped. In a heatproof mug, add the pumpkin spice sauce to the bottom. Pour the tea infused milk over the sauce and froth using a handheld frother until you’ve received your desired texture.

Easy peasy, right? I hope you enjoy it!
