Syrup + coffee = the most decadent teats!
This one is for the the ultimate coffee lovers who want more than their morning cup of Joe. There are many ways to incorporate coffee into your day, one great way to do that is with coffee syrup!
This recipe is a take on the classic simple syrup recipe, I use equal parts sugar and equal parts water. For the coffee flavor, I use finely ground coffee beans.
I prefer a neutral flavored coffee with a lighter roast, but this is totally customizable. Be sure to grind as finely as possible to allow the coffee granules to mix well.
This recipe takes about 20 minutes to make. It’s super simple and requires very few ingredients! Go give it a try!
In a small saucepan, add one cup of sugar, one cup of water and 3 tablespoons of finely ground coffee beans. On medium-low heat, bring to a light boil and simmer on low until sugar has dissolved, about 10 minutes. Stir occasionally.
If you still see chunks of coffee in the liquid, strain the liquid to remove them. I use a pour over dripper lined with a filter and have it drip into my syrup container. There’s nothing wrong with leaving the chunks if desired, it’s all a matter of preference.
Remove from heat and allow to cool then transfer to air-tight container for storage. A small mason jar will work perfectly.
There are many ways to use coffee syrup. Add syrup to your baking recipes, pour over pancakes, make yummy cocktails, add to smoothies for a wonderful coffee flavor. There’s so many things you can do with this syrup!
Coffee Syrup Recipe
- 1 cup granulated white sugar
- 1 cup water
- 3 tablespoon finely ground coffee beans
- Combine sugar, water and ground coffee beans into small saucepan and bring to boil over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally.
- Turn burner to a low simmer and simmer syrup until sugar is fully dissolved. Stir occasionally to incorporate.
Store in the refrigerator for up to one month
