Ok, I know coffee soda sounds weird but trust me, it’s definitely a must try for anyone who likes coffee. Adding seltzer water is a great way to spice up iced coffee. The bubbles from the seltzer make the coffee feel like a treat, a summer bubbly version of everyone’s favorite daily drink.

I’m going to show you how to make a basic recipe. There are tons of ways to make coffee soda. Flavored seltzer can be substituted and sweeteners such as honey, simple syrup, agave nectar, etc. can be added as well. It’s super fun to customize and see what you can dream up! Adding seltzer can also be an awesome way to create your own coffee cocktails. Think White Claw or Truly.

I used freshly brewed coffee and chilled it for my coffee soda, but it can easily be substituted with cold brew which would make the drink even smoother with more nuance. I also used a flavorless seltzer but I also really enjoy lemon or lime seltzer.

If you’re still weirded out, just dive right in and give it a try and tell me what you think!
