Moon Milk has been really popular these last couple years, but I don’t think this is just a fad. In fact, it’s actually a great pre-bedtime drink that you really need to try.

What is Moon Milk?

Moon Milk is an ancient Ayurvedic tradition that combines warm milk with calming herbs that promote healthy sleep habits. Traditionally, there’s usually a sweetener added such as honey, maple syrup, agave nectar, etc. and healthy fats such as coconut oil, cacao butter, ghee, etc.

Not only is it delicious but it’s a great holistic ritual before bed.

There are a multitude of ways to make Moon Milk, here are 4 badass recipes that you can make from home:

MOON MILK RECIPES

NUMBER 28

Ingredients

  • Number 28 tea bag
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 2 cups unsweetened almond milk
  • Dried rose petals for garnish (optional)

Directions

  1. Add milk to a small saucepan and bring to a light boil, until the milk has begun to froth then turn off heat
  2. Combine Number 28 tea bag and maple syrup to the hot milk and let infuse for a 3-5 minutes
  3. Top off with dried rose petals (optional)

BLUE BUTTERFLY

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon butterfly pea flowers (placed in tea bag)
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil
  • 2 teaspoons maple syrup
  • 2 cups unsweetened almond milk

Directions

  1. Add milk to a small saucepan and bring to a light boil, until the milk has begun to froth then turn off heat
  2. Combine butterfly pea flower tea bag, coconut oil, maple syrup to the hot milk and let infuse for a 3-5 minutes
  3. Top off with extra butterfly pea flowers (optional)

INDIAN SPICE

Ingredients

  • Indian Spice tea bag
  • 1 tablespoon cacao butter
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 2 cups unsweetened almond milk
  • Pinch of salt

Directions

  1. Add milk to a small saucepan and bring to a light boil, until the milk has begun to froth then turn off heat
  2. Combine Indian Spice tea bag, cacao butter, maple syrup and pinch of salt to the hot milk and let infuse for a 3-5 minutes
  3. Top off with dried rose petals (optional)

PETAL BLEND

Ingredients

  • Petal Blend tea bag
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups unsweetened almond milk
  • Pinch of salt
  • Dried lavender petals for garnish (optional)

Directions

  1. Add milk to a small saucepan and bring to a light boil, until the milk has begun to froth then turn off heat
  2. Combine Petal Blend tea bag, honey, vanilla extract, pinch of salt to the hot milk and let infuse for a 3-5 minutes
  3. Top off with dried lavender petals (optional)

Tips

Feel free to substitute milk with your preferred milk of choice.
